✨ 5 Prompts to Anchor Yourself Through the Senses
Let these prompts guide you into awareness—noticing what’s real and here. You don’t need to write polished sentences. Just observe, describe, and be with what you find.
👁️ 1. What do I see around me right now?
List the colors, textures, shapes, light, or movement you notice. Try describing them like you’re seeing them for the first time.
👂 2. What sounds are present in this moment?
Include near and far sounds—even silence or background noise. Which feel calming, energizing, or distracting?
🤲 3. What do I feel physically in my body and environment?
Describe the temperature, your clothing, the chair beneath you, or sensations in your hands and feet. How does your body feel in space?
👃 4. What scents can I notice—or remember?
Write about any nearby aromas (tea, flowers, a candle) or recall a scent that brings comfort or memory.
🍯 5. What textures, tastes, or objects help me feel grounded and present?
This could be a favorite snack, a soft blanket, smooth stone, or warm mug. Write about how it helps you reconnect with yourself.
